Wimberley High School rounded out the first round of district play as the Lady Texans defeated rivals Navarro and Canyon Lake High Schools to sit firmly in second place. The Lady Texans improved their record to 25-6 overall and finished the first round of district play at 5-1. In the game on Tuesday, Sept. 26, the Lady Texans squared off with rival Navarro in a battle of stateranked teams and for sole possession of second place in the district standings.

Wimberley High School’s volleyball team notched another win last week as the Lady Texans swept the Boerne High School Greyhounds 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-14). The victory gives the Lady Texans 23 wins for the season and improves their district record to 3-1 overall.
A few early turnovers kept Lampasas High School in the ball game early against Wimberley High School last week, but with a steady demeanor and the help of a homecoming crowd, the Texans stayed the course to cruise to victory 41-20.
In a state ranked top ten showdown between district rivals, the Wimberley Lady Texans fell to the Davenport Lady Wolves 3-0 (22-25, 19-25, 23-25).

Wimberley extended their winning streak to 11 games as the Texans swept both Blanco and Fredericksburg, the latter being the first district game of the season.
If it seemed like last week’s football game versus the Brock Eagles (1-2) was a little bit too familiar, that’s because it was. Eerily similar to last season, Wimberley (3-0) jumped out to a two-score lead in the first half before Brock came back to nearly steal the game with a last minute stand sealing the victory for the Texans.
