Texans sweep Chaparral, start district play against Navarro
Wimberley extended their winning streak to 12 games as the No. 1-ranked Texans swept the Killeen Chaparral Bobcats 3-0 [25-22, 2521, 25-19].
The Texans improved their record to 26-2 overall.
Wimberley battled Chaparral in a tough first set but were able to overcome the Bobcats to win 25-22 and go up 1-0.
The second set was another tough challenge for the Texans but Wimberley held firm to win the second set 2521 and go up 2-0.
Wimberley finished off the Bobcats by winning the third set 25-19 and winning the match 3-0.
Junior Addison Parks led the team in kills with 16 followed by senior Laney Hennessee with 11.
Senior Addie Laney has a team high five serving aces while the junior duo of Carson People and Skyler Herring led the team in assists with 18 and 20.
Wimberley wraps up non-district play Tuesday at home against San Antonio Veterans Memorial before the Wimberley View press time. The Texans start district play on the road Friday against the Navarro Panthers. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
