The Wimberley Texans (6-2) basketball team took on the Taylor Ducks (4-10) on Tuesday night in Taylor. In a high scoring game, Wimberley was not able to come out on top losing 86-82.

With Hanukkah stories reaching back more than 2,000 years, prayers, music and traditional potato latkes, a Menorah lighting ceremony was held on the Wimberley Square last week. Rabbi Ari Weingarten of Chabad of San Marcos addressed the crowd of approximately 75 people who gathered for the event. He explained that the lighting of the Menorah encourages humans to “bring light to the darkness,” which was echoed by Rabbi Pinni Katz of Johannesburg, South Africa who also spoke. The ceremony took place on the sixth night of Hanukkah, a festival which began this year at sunset on December 7 and ended December 15.

Wimberley View Renovates

The Wimberley View office at 101 FM 3237 has been making changes. We would like to thank our customers for their patience during our renovations and to apologize for any inconvenience they have experienced. Our office is now through the building’s south door, just left of our former entrance. Starting Monday, December 18, our hours will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Stars Over Wimberley, a program of the Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance, presents Winter Nights, a Singer- songwriter Showcase, January 9 and 10, 2024 at the Wimberley Playhouse, 550 Old Kyle Road. Ten artists will perform in six shows over the course of two evenings.

Merry Murder at Old Glory Ranch

Murder, its resulting mayhem, and mirth delighted guests at Old Glory Ranch last week during the “Deck the Halls with Merry Murder” mystery theatre and dinner. More than a hundred guests attended the event. As the dinner got underway, news of a murder shocked diners and before long, everyone at the table fell under suspicion. As suspects were interrogated by tablemates and other participants, shocking revelations were exposed and soon, it appeared that multiple people had the motive, the means, and the opportunity to commit the crime. Just as diners inched their way to the truth, a scream split the air and a body turned up right before their eyes.
