Woodcreek to celebrate Fall Arbor Day Nov. 9

The city of Woodcreek, a designated Tree City U.S.A., is celebrating their Fall Arbor Day by giving away a Red Bud or Magnolia tree to a few lucky attendees. Woodcreek’s first Annual Tree Giveaway will be held in the newly restored Augusta Park on November 9.

Organized by the city’s active Tree Board, this year’s event has a strong educational component that helps residents learn how to care for their trees. The year-round program uses yard signs to disseminate information about caring for trees during droughts and when to trim and water them. With information from certified arborist, Jacob McElroy, residents learn to trim trees in late fall and early winter and use Springtime strategies to keep trees free of oak wilt.

The city will observe National Arbor Day on April 4, 2025.
