It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce is bringing good cheer.

The city held a public hearing last week to discuss its proposed Transportation Plan, which — if passed — will be the first such plan since 2010.

Camille Carson recognized a problem and knew she had to do something. For that, she earned the everlasting gratitude of Taini, a sixyear- old Arabian mix that Carson picked up at a low-end horse auction.

Barnabas Connection, a nonprofit dedicated to “changing lives through connection,” is hosting a housewarming event to celebrate its first year in its new home.

The Trinity Edwards Springs Protection Association — a nonprofit to protect the Trinity and Edwards Aquifers — has sent its First Amended Notice of Intent to bring a legal action against Far South Mining, LLC, for a proposed rock quarry and rock crushing operation in Hays County.

Faced with the threat of oak wilt, a fungal disease primarily affecting oak trees, communities in Western Hays County have sought to find possible solutions — solutions that encourage support and cooperation throughout the area. For the cities of Woodcreek and Dripping Springs, attention has turned to the Tree City USA program, organized by the Arbor Day Foundation.
