On Father’s Day, the Friends of the Wimberley Village Library hosted their first minigolf fundraising event. The inside of the library was transformed into 19 whimsical putting greens. Generous businesses and patrons sponsored holes which raised funds for the renovation of the existing library.

“Every pool has a dynamic,” said Williams, who told me this was her second season as a guard for Austin City pools. “Deep Eddy’s dynamic is friendly and very welcoming. Even if people are swimming laps, they tend to be easygoing. No food or drinks, except water, are allowed in the pool area so the vibe is peaceful as people enjoy the water and stretch out on their towels between swims.”

Some may have noticed the heavy machinery, blocked entrances, and workers on the courthouse grounds.

Last week, the president of Keep Wimberley Beautiful, Lin Weber, presented an award to Wimberley’s Post Office for their gardens and landscaping.

A fundraiser earlier this spring resulted in a $14,000 check for a local organization, My Neighbor’s Keeper.

In what has seemed like a never-ending heat wave — what many weather experts are referring to as a “heat dome” — Texas temperatures continue to reach record highs for June, prompting health advisories and pleas for energy conservation.

After sitting outside in the heat enjoying “The Best Little Parade in Texas,” what could be better than sitting in air conditioning listening to beautiful music by two of Wimberley’s best and longest running musical groups? The Wimberley Community Chorus and the Hill Country Community Band are coming back together this year for the 11th Annual Hometown Patriotic Concert on July 4 at 3 p.m. at the Wimberley First Baptist Church, located at 15951 Winters Mill Parkway.

The Wimberley City Council has continued to consider the creation of a local historic district encompassing the Wimberley Square, much to the chagrin of some of its property owners.
