The third-party search firm Thompson and Horton, LLP hired to help Wimberley ISD replace Superintendent Dwain York met with 50 members of the community last week to learn more about what the community wants to see in a new hire.

Calling all Sweethearts! Al Dressen’s Super Swing Revue is tuning up for their Feb. 12 appearance at the Wimberley Community Center. Hailed as the best country and western swing dance band in Texas, the Revue played its first gig at the Broken Spoke in July 1982. Bandleader and vocalist Al Dressen, who was inducted into the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame in 2009, says “This is Western Swing like it’s supposed to sound.” Designated as the official musical style of Texas, the genre is a fusion of many styles.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy is now accepting applications for its 2022 spring class.

Voters who go to the polls for municipal and school board elections on May 7 will also be asked to decide on two proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.

“I don’t think I would have gotten the help I needed at any other school other than KAPS,” Katherine Anne Porter School graduate Austin Adams told the KAPS Board of Trustees on Monday night.
