A new fine art gallery has opened in Wimberley at 220 Old Kyle Road. Aptly named the 220 Gallery, it is the endeavor of owner, curator and artist, Suzanne Oliver.
The Hays County Historical Commission recently received a 2022 Distinguished Service Award from the Texas Historical Commission.

Mary Jo and John Saunders were the lucky winners of the “Storyteller’s Quilt” created by Cindy Stadler and donated to the Friends of the Wimberley Village Library. The quilt raffle was one of many efforts to raise money for the renovation of the library’s existing building. The Friends organization assists the library by raising funds and cultivating volunteers.
The Wimberley City Council has proclaimed July as Parks and Recreation Month, following its meeting last week.
This past weekend in San Marcos, a wildfire off of Hilliard Road burned an area of approximately 50 acres. There were no structural losses or loss of life reported, but the wildfire is just one indication of an environment under stress by weeks of excessive heat.
The annual Independence Day Parade closed down RR 12 last week, taking over the main thoroughfare for the morning of July 4.
Considered to be one of the greatest rodeo performers in the history of the sport, Leon Coffee has etched a legendary career capturing numerous awards, including an induction into the Rodeo Hall of Fame.
