The Wimberley Memorial Day Open Pro Rodeo was a big success over the weekend drawing many fans to stands and seeing local, in-state, and out-of-thecountry cowboys and cowgirls compete to see who is the best.

As Wimberley athletics put a bow on the 2021-2022 season last week, it was back up unofficially this week as the Texan football team hosted their state qualifying tournament for 7-on-7 football last Saturday.

Last year’s 4A UIL State Champion finished this year with a silver medal after shooting a 67 and a 75 at the championship tournament held at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland last week.
Just as the Wimberley baseball team has done all season, the Texans were not going down without a fight regardless of who they played this season.
For the first time in school history, Wimberley High School will bring home a state championship in Track and Field.
Down to the last inning in Game 2, the Wimberley baseball team was trailing 3-1 having scored just one run in the last 20 innings and facing elimination after dropping game 1 against the rival Navarro Panthers.
An epic regular season finale was on tap for the Wimberley baseball team as they squared off with the Boerne Greyhounds.
The Wimberley High School boys’ track and field team won the overall team title and the girls team finished second at the 4A-Region IV track meet on April 29-30 at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
The Wimberley softball team saw their season come to a close in the Bi-District round of the playoffs as Navarro swept the Texans in a best two out of three series with the Panthers winning Game 1 at 8-6 and winning Game 2 10-0.
