Wimberley HS senior Caden Romo signed a National Letter of Intent on December 20th at a ceremony at WHS’s Texan Gym to continue his playing career at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Flanked by his immediate family, and cheered on by scores of other family members and many of his Texan teammates, Romo made official a verbal commitment he gave to the Falcons back in June.

Romo has racked up honors during his Texan playing career. He has been the District 13-4A-II Offensive Line MVP for two consecutive years (2022, 2023), and last year, as a junior he was named First Team 4A All-State by the Padilla Poll, Second Team 4A All-State by the Texas Sportswriters Association (TSWA), and was named Third Team All-Central Texas (all conferences) by Scorebook Live.

Romo will no doubt add to his honors when more of the postseason honors are released for this past season, as he was the leader of a Texans offensive line that paved the way for 50.1 points per game. The entire offensive line surrendered only eight sacks all season, and helped Texan ball carriers to 7.5 yards per rushing attempt. Romo was the team leader with 95 knockdown blocks. A state finalist a year ago and semi finalists this year, the Texans have a 29-2 record during Romo’s junior and senior seasons.
