It was a tough outing for the Wimberley Texans volleyball team as they made the trip to Boerne to battle the Greyhounds.

The game was a heated matchup as the two rivals fought for the district championship last year with both teams looking to stay in the race for the district championship.

In the end, it was the Greyhounds who got the leg up in the district race, Boerne knocked off Wimberley winning 3-1 (14-25, 23-25, 25-15, 26-28) as the Texans dropped their second district game of the year.

The loss sets up a three way tie for third place in district play between Wimberley, Boerne, and Fredericksburg all with 2-2 district records while Navarro is currently up half a game with a 3-2 record.

Laney Hennessee led the team in kills with 17 while also leading the team in aces with three.

Hennessee was also tied for the lead in blocks along with Kenlsee Brown, Cortlyn Davis, Mariah McCoy who all had one block apiece.

Jesse Weeks led the team in assists with 31 while Rhagen Masur led the team in digs with 32.

Wimberley rounds out the first round of district play with an important home game against Navarro on Tuesday night before press time before rounding out the week Friday Night with a road game against rival Canyon Lake.
