Pete was born in Longview, Texas on March 22nd, 1940 to Otis and Maxine Farris. His adolescent years were spent in White Oak, Texas with his extended family where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing sports. He graduated from Victoria High School and went on to attend Victoria Junior College.

As a proud patriot, he served with the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Through adulthood, Pete worked for Motorola and Mayflower Moving Company, but his greatest dedication was his family.
