On Father’s Day, the Friends of the Wimberley Village Library hosted their first minigolf fundraising event. The inside of the library was transformed into 19 whimsical putting greens. Generous businesses and patrons sponsored holes which raised funds for the renovation of the existing library.
Neel and Leslie Morton of Office of Architecture were the title sponsors who paid for the cost of the event. Mail Stop, Hope Reins in Texas, Marjorie Dehart, Edward Jones/Michael Murphy, Shirley Schliessmann, Mounger and Campbell Attorneys, Tim and Debbie Donaldson, Attendee Management Inc., as well as the Rasco Family, Charles and Cathy Moore, Janette Barlow and Tonda Frandy were hole sponsors.
The event was free to the public, and around 200 patrons participated.
“There were lots of laughs and smiles and many showed up with their own putters! It was great fun and a way to get out of the Texas heat! We plan on making this an annual event each Father’s Day,” said Beth Jordan, President of the Friends of the Library organization.
