It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce is bringing good cheer.
This year’s 7th annual Wimberley Winter Wonderland is scheduled for Dec. 2 and 3 at the Wimberley Community Center, located at 14068 Ranch Road 12. The center will come alive with decorated, full-size Christmas trees, tabletop trees, wreaths and table arrangements in celebration of the holiday season. In addition, several local businesses and artists will be selling their wares at vendor tables.
Each item is donated by a local business, non-profit organization, or individual. These items will be sold as part of a silent auction with nativity sets, original artwork and other items.
The event kicks off on Friday, December 2nd with Adult Only Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Complimentary wine and snacks will be available, along with live entertainment from local musician Jennifer Zavaleta.
Saturday, December 3rd is Family Day — from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This portion of the event will feature family-friendly entertainment for all ages, with face painting and balloon art as well as a meet and greet with Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free rides in a horse drawn carriage will also be available this year, sponsored by Square Inn. In addition, the Wimberley Community Chorale will be performing Christmas favorites at noon. Trucks offering a variety of food and beverage items will be available in the parking lot.
“We are all looking forward to this year’s Winter Wonderland,” Event Chairperson Jerri Roberts said. ”It’s the chamber’s opportunity to bring a family friendly fun event to the Wimberley community while giving our local businesses an avenue to showcase their services and products. We’re excited to have Jennifer Zavaleta performing on Friday night and the Square Inn carriage rides — both new events for Winter Wonderland.”
Each year, the chamber puts together a raffle tree made up not only of gift cards but also items donated by local vendors, artists and businesses. This year’s tree has a value of over $1,300. Tickets for the raffle tree are currently on sale.
“Our volunteers have worked hard to make this a special weekend,” Roberts added. ”Please come out and enjoy!”
