Longtime supporters of the Civic Club’s efforts to keep Wimberley vital, the Fields surprised organizers with a $5,000 pledge in addition to underwriting the bar and loaning their private yacht to the auction. During his remarks, Fields praised the efforts of Wimberley EMS for coming to his aid after a recent incident. EMS is one of the many Wimberley nonprofit organizations supported by the efforts of the Civic Club.

More than 80 people attended the event, enjoying the impressive repertoire of Julie Ragins and Curtis Brengle who perform as Pear Duo, and lush hors’ d’oeuvres from the RR12 Supper Club of Wimberley and The Videre. Guests relished the view of the Blanco River from the home’s expansive deck.

Kick-Off party organizers Lisa Valentine, Melinda Miller, and Alicia Dedman, the three Home Tour co-chairs, invited guests to give generously by bidding on the yacht trip, vacation stays, art, and other items in the online auction that remains live through Nov. 15. Lisa’s husband, Art Valentine, delighted guests by making the opening bid on the yacht excursion. Generous Home Tour sponsors included M. Elliott Studio and Lisa and Art Valentine at the the Gold level; The Leaning Pear, Melinda and Craig Miller, and Physical Therapy of Wimberley at the Silver level; and Longleaf Craft Kitchen + Bar and The Old Mill Store, Julie and Greg Jenkins, Nancy Robertson, Becky Selman, and Karen Thormalen at the Bronze level.

The party kicks off the 2022 Home Tour held Nov. 11 & 12. For more information about the Home tour, the auction, and other Civic Club activities, go to wimberleyccc. org.
