Wimberley Gold Santa is getting started with the annual program for the children of Wimberley.
Wimberley Gold Santa will continue to provide bank-type gift cards to families in need, so they can do the shopping for their own kids. They will also provide a local grocery store gift card to help supplement the family holiday meals. Because of this change, Wimberley Gold Santa is seeking financial donations rather than toys. Wimberley Gold Santa has provided Christmas help to Wimberley children from Kindergarten through eighth grade and families within the Wimberley School District that participate in their free lunch program for more than 15 years.
They also look to other sources to make sure they have not overlooked families not in the WISD but within our boundaries. This is usually about 125 Families and more than 300 children.
“We ask that you consider making a cash donation so we can provide a bank type gift card and this grocery store gift card to each family,” Mike Boyle, organizer of Wimberley Gold Santa said. “Our goal is to hand out these cards on November 19th to allow the families the opportunity to shop early and take advantage of Thanksgiving sales. We are not yet sure how many families and kids will participate this year as applications are now in the process of going out through the schools. We expect an increase over last year, so we hope to be prepared thanks to your help.”
Consider making a tax-deductible donation to Wimberley Gold Santa by sending your donation to P.O. Box 1, Wimberley, Texas 78676 or drop it off at the Century 21 Randall Morris & Associates at 13320 Ranch Road 12 at the corner of Ranch Road 12 and FM 3237. If you have any questions, please call Boyle at (512)293-7115.
It is still an unusual time for many within our community but more so for some others so please consider helping our families and kids in need.
