Another chapter of the growing Fredericksburg- Wimberley rivalry was written last Tuesday night as the Billies and the Texans battled for a spot in the playoffs.
As Wimberley took the first game in their last matchup, Fredericksburg looked to even up the series to avoid a possible tiebreaker.
With the game on the road, it was up to the Texans to knock off the Billies in a hostile environment.
It was a big victory for Wimberley as they knocked Fredericksburg 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-16) Laney Hennessee led the team in both kills and aces with 18 and three apiece while also being tied with lead digs along with Maddy Harris 19.
Kenslee Brown led the team in blocks with two while Jesse Weeks led the team in assists with 35.
Wimberley then hosted the Davenport Wolves for homecoming Friday night.
Squaring off with the district leading team, the Texans looked to add another win underneath their belt.
Unfortunately for Wimberley, Davenport was able to ruin homecoming for the Texans as the Wolves won 3-1 (2523, 21-25, 25-18, 25-22).
Hennessee led the team in both kills and aces with 11 and two.
Hennessee was also tied for the lead in blocks with one along with Mariah McCoy and Emily Thames.
Jesse Weeks led the team in both digs and assists 18 and 20 apiece.
Wimberley went on the road Tuesday night against Bandera after the time of press before hosting Boerne in an important district showdown to help determine a playoff spot.
