I am supporting Lindsey Deringer for Place 5, WISD School Board.
I am a practicing attorney who has lived and worked in Wimberley for over 15 years. I have served on numerous public and private boards in our community; and I ran for WISD School Board in the 2021 election cycle, during which I got to know Lindsey. Against the backdrop of my own community service, I unreservedly recommend Lindsey Deringer for WISD School Board.
Lindsey’s years of experience as an educator and caretaker of young children makes hers a crucial voice on the Board, which currently has no professional educators.
Beyond her education experience, Lindsey has been an active and contributing member of our community where she has lived for nearly nine years. She has served as Vice Chair of the City of Wimberley’s Transportation Advisory Board since 2020, and she managed a school board campaign during the 2021 election cycle.
She is also an active member of her church where she participates in fund-raising and assists with planning of the church’s family ministry programming.
Lindsey’s professional and community experiences have solidified her understanding that the non-partisan nature of our school board is now more important than ever. She recognizes that partisanship and the favoritism it bestows on certain groups have no place in our schools. The most important function of any school board member is to foster an atmosphere in which all students, all faculty, and all staff may thrive and excel. Lindsey understands that fundamental fact.
I urge the voters in Wimberley to cast your vote for a community- minded person with a background in education. Lindsey Deringer is that candidate.
