The WISD school board is the voice of our community regarding decisions about our students and the schools in the district. Board members’ duties include listening to the ideas of the people in the community, school staff, and students, and include those ideas in setting district goals.
My husband, our youngest child, and myself moved to Wimberley in 1998. Our son began his sophomore year in the then new, Wimberley High School. In the many years since moving here, I have subbed and worked in various volunteer positions in our schools. I now have four grandchildren in WISD, this year one at each of the four campuses. I have always been impressed with the love and the commitment WISD teachers and support staff show the students!
Through many years serving in the role as the children’s librarian at the Wimberley Valley Library, I have had the opportunity to meet and serve many families. So many new families are choosing Wimberley for their home and the place to raise their children. Families moving from different areas of Texas and the country bringing a rich diversity to the community.
I support Lindsey Deringer for the WISD school board. Her experience as a classroom teacher gives her an understanding of the dayto- day operations of running a classroom and the needs of the support staff. She also is ESL certified. Her various volunteer activities though out the community demonstrate her commitment to the Wimberley community. Lindsey will listen to all ideas while serving on the school board empowering the board in setting goals for our children and community!
I invite you to join me in voting for Lindsey Deringer for school board!
