An old legal proverb says: “The thing speaks for itself”. Three candidates are running for Woodcreek City Council, the most qualified with local government knowledge and abilities being: LINNEA BAILEY was an economically-thinking Woodcreek City Secretary several years ago, staying active ever since. Linnea is Chairperson of our Platinum Panel on Woodcreek Roads to get all of our roads fixed. Linnea’s so frugal that she only had one side of her campaign signs printed.
CHRYS GRUMMERT serves on City Council and has been a tireless advocate for our citizens. He got the Brookmeadow Overlay passed, limiting subdivision lots to a 1 acre minimum and the passage of the $30,000.00 Property Tax Exemption for our age 65 citizens and the disabled. A “dot the i’s and cross the t’s” type person who remembers everything, leaves nothing to chance.
JOE KOTARBA is a Professor of Sociology at Texas State University, has served knowledgeably for years on our Planning and Zoning Commission, most recently appointed its Chair. Appointed to City Council to replace Judy Brizendine when she resigned.
We need ALL THREE of them on City Council to continue the phenomenal progress the City’s made in just the past 11 months under Mayor Jeff Rasco’s results-driven leadership. The most citizen-oriented progress that I’ve seen in 20 years!
Electing these three means we can keep moving forward with their hands-on local government experience, not looking back on the bad old days when recent City Councils with a 3-vote majority bloc continually and unquestioningly did as told, always voting 3-2 for expensive programs having little to do with real-life local government, giving little thought to the financial consequences of their votes and disastrous for us. All of them, or their spouses, are now running for election.
