It was a stunning upset in district play as the top ranked Wimberley Texans fell to the Davenport Wolves in a highly contested volleyball game.
In the first set, it was the Wolves taking control of the game as Wimberley found themselves trailing at 25-12, The second set didn’t go as planned as the Wolves won the second set at 25-16 and took full control of the game by a considerable margin.
The Texans avoided the sweep by beating the Wolves in the third set at 25-23 but ultimately failed in the fourth set as Davenport came away with the win at 25-17.
Leading the team in kills was Laney Hennessee with 18 while Mariah McCoy led the team in sacks with two.
Carson Peoples led the team in assists with two while Jesse Weeks gave her teammates a lot of help with assists with.
Maddy Harris led the team in digs with 28.
The Texans needed to bounce back in a big way as they returned home to take on Baylor.
Wimberley came through in the clutch as the Texans swept the Bandera Bulldogs 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-19.)
Kenslee Brown led the team in kills with nine while Carson Peoples had three aces of the game.
Brown also led the team in blocks with two apiece while both Peoples and Harris led the team in digs with 9 apience.
Jesse Weeks led the team in assists with 20.
Wimberley goes on the road before the time of press as the Texans battle another foe in the Boerne Greyhounds.
