WVAL Juried Show
Thursday, February 3rd, The Wimberley Valley Art League will host a juried art show starting on February 3 at the Wimberley Community Center. The first 2022 show juror is Debbie Little Wilson of Dripping Springs. The show will also be available online at wimberleyvalleyartleague.org. The show will feature 50 works by local talented artists. All submissions will be for sale.
Charles Canvanaugh Charity Guitar Concert
The guitarist, Charles Cavanaugh will be presenting a charity guitar concert at Wimberley Presbyterian February 6 at 3 pm. Guests are Robert Harding on guitar and Penny, and Tom Gabrielsen vocals. Proceeds from this performance will benefit Operation Good Shepherd which is the financial assistance fund of the Wimberley Ministerial Alliance. It exists to provide assistance with rents, utilities, medical costs, and transportation for Wimberley residents in need. Music is Charles’ ministry to reflect on the stories of life and how they can deepen our understanding and action in faith and charity. He will open with his song “Jacobs Well” where the Samaritan woman was offered living water by Jesus. Other original compositions are Transfiguration, Mercy and The Greatest of These is Love. The concert will include pieces by Bach, Torroba, Milan, and vocal pieces. Charles Cavanaugh is a composer and performer on classical guitar. He studied music at the University of North Texas and at Basel Music Conservatory in Switzerland.

StoryFest
Purveyors of all manner of tales and tunes, posey and scripted palaver will tout their talents at StoryFest 2022 on Feb. 17-20 at five venues in Wimberley sponsored by Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance (WVACA). Clue: On Stage with the Wimberley Players

If you have experienced the diagnosis of cancer now or in the past, we invite you to meet with the Cancer Support Group, sponsored by St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, to talk and relax with others who share your experiences. Meetings are in the Chamber of Commerce members’ room, 11:30 AM - 1 PM on the second Wednesday of the month.
