Wimberley wrapped up tournament season for the year as the Texans traveled to Kerrville to play in the Kerrville Volleyball tournament.

In pool play, Wimberley was placed in Pool 5 with D’Hanis, Pflugerville Connally and Marion.

The Texans made a clean sweep beating all three teams without dropping a set in those three games to advance to the gold bracket.

In the first game of the gold bracket, the Texans squared off with the Haltom Buffaloes.

It was another clean sweep for Wimberley as they defeated the Buffaloes 2-0 (25-16, 25-21).

Leading the way for the Texans in kills was Hennessee with seven while Masur and Alexis Mullins lead the team in aces with two apiece.

Kenslee Brown and Maddy Harris led the team in blocks with two while Masur led the team in digs with six.

Jesse Weeks rounded out the stat count leading the team in assists with 11.

In the semifinals, the Texans found themselves playing against the tournament hosts in the Kerrville Tivy Antlers.

It was a tough matchup for the Texans but Wimberley pulled out the victory in a hard fought 2-0 win (25-20, 25-23). Wimberley had now won 13 straight sets in a row. Hennessee led the team in both kills and aces once again with eight and five apiece while Mc-Coy held the net downs with two blocks.

Hennesee also led the team in digs along with Maddy Harris with nine while Jesse Weeks led the team in assists with 14.

In the championship game, the Texans found themselves battling the Antonian Prep Apaches.

Wimberley came up short losing to Antonian Prep 2-0 (17-25, 15-25).

Throughout the three tournaments, the Texans won all three of the pools they were placed in while placing runner up in two tournaments, Tex-Fest and the Kerrville tournament.

Wimberley comes home for the next two games this week as they played host to Pflugerville on Tuesday night after the Wimberley View’s time of press. They will face Burnet on Friday night starting at 6:30 p.m.
