Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) is now accepting applications for its fall round of community grants. Nonprofits within, or surrounding the cooperative’s service territory, are encouraged to apply for a grant of up to $5,000. The deadline is Friday, September 30.
PEC awards community grants twice a year and nonprofits may use them to fund projects involving technology, capital improvements, or equipment related to energy efficiency. Since launching the program in 2016, PEC has provided more than $445,000 in funding to more than 70 nonprofit organizations. During the co-op’s most recent round of grants last spring, PEC awarded $35,000 to eight nonprofits.
These important grants are made possible through the generosity of PEC members enrolled in our Power of Change Program. Members who enroll in the program can opt to round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar for charity or make a one-time donation.
