One of the many special events happening in Wimberley this coming Fourth of July weekend is Wimberley Market Day on Saturday the 2nd. WMD will be in full-swing with hundreds of vendors selling their one-of-a-kind treasures and crafts. Concession stands will be stocked with ice-cold drinks and tasty treats including the popular bar-B-que at Concession #9. Also, the Wimberley Lions Club haulers will be available to help shoppers transport large purchases to their vehicles. One-hundred percent of the do nations collected by the drivers go back into the local community through grants and scholarships.
Beginning around 11:00 a.m., toe-tapping entertainment will perform on each of the three stages located around Lions Field. Movin’ Melvin Brown headlines at the Pavilion stage. JR Rustic Rhythms plays the Shady Grove stage. And, Young & Rusty play at the Hill Top stage.
Wimberley Market Day is held on the First Saturday of each month, rain or shine. July shopping hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lions Field is located off FM 2325, about a mile from the Wimberley Square. The $5.00 do nation accepted at the Lions Club’s parking lots helps to fund the various grants and scholarships distributed by the Wimberley Lions Club.
