Evelyn Neve, widow of Grammy winner Rupert Neve, died on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Born Oct. 5,1929, in Murree, India, she is survived by her 5 children, Mary, David (Liz), John (Petra), Stephen (Sue), and Ann (Dave). She had 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Arthur Rupert Neve.

A British citizen, born and raised in what is now Pakistan, Evelyn came to the UK around the time of WWII and trained as a primary school teacher. She met and married Rupert in 1951. Children soon followed and whilst having her family she worked alongside Rupert in his business.

In many ways she was a woman ahead of her time and became chair of the board of the Bible Society in London, a charity with which the Neve family had close connections, from June 1991 until June 1994, when Rupert and Evelyn moved to Wimberley, where they continued to work together.

They became members of Chapel in the Hills, and before long Evelyn became chair of the Women’s Guild. She made long-term friends there, and as she became older and needed help, the church family stepped up and did all they could.

Eventually she ‘retired’ and enjoyed visits from family, being part of the Book Club, International Group and Supper Club.

Sadly, the last couple years of her life were badly affected by Alzheimer’s disease, which in the end prevented her from communicating. The disease escalated rapidly in the last weeks, and we are grateful to the staff in the Memory Care Unit at Alexis Pointe in Wimberley who so diligently cared for her when her immediate family were not able to be here.

She will be sorely missed by her family and her many friends.

Arrangements for a funeral/memorial service will be announced in due course.
