James Robert “Rob” Stagner, 77, of Wimberley, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13th, 2022 after a long battle with post-polio syndrome.

James Robert “Rob” Stagner, 77, of Wimberley, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13th, 2022 after a long battle with post-polio syndrome.

Rob was born in Houston, Texas on May 25, 1945 to Ellis Emitt Stagner and Mary (Murray) Stagner from Highlands, Texas. After Rob graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas (1963), he pursued studies at Lee College in Baytown and Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Rob spent a few years at SMS Industries in Highlands, Texas before starting his career in the industrial supply business. Rob joined IMSCO, Industrial Supply Company, as an outside sales representative and quickly moved into a managerial role. In 1984 Rob joined Texas Mill Supply and spent the next 15 years as a branch manager opening new locations in Rockdale, TX, Pensacola, FL and Mobile, AL. His final 10 years with Texas Mill Supply were spent working from his home office in Wimberley, Texas. Rob retired in 2009 and was able to travel throughout Texas, enjoy the beauty of the Hill Country and indulge in his love of reading.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents Ellis Emitt Stagner and Mary (Murray) Stagner and his brother, Ben Murray Stagner

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jean Smith Stagner; two children, Renee Whitacre Martin (Liam Smart) and Scott Whitacre; five grandchildren, BriAnna Martin, Blake Martin, Brady Martin, Elaina Whitacre and Cydney Whitacre; nieces, Melissa (Ray) Denson, Donna Stagner Hawks; nephew Brad (Vicky) Stagner and brother-in-law A.J. “Jay” (Kay) Smith, III.

Services will be held at Chapel in the Hills in Wimberley, Texas on Monday, June 27th at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to consider donating to Chapel in the Hills Guild/Carillon. Address: 14601 Ranch Road 12, Wimberley, TX 78676.
