Lions Club honors outstanding teacher, students with awards

The Wimberley Lions Club honored the students and teachers of the month for the final time in the 2021/22 academic school year.

The Wimberley Lions Club honored the students and teachers of the month for the final time in the 2021/22 academic school year.

Each individual school in Wimberley ISD nominates a teacher and a student of the month. The honorees are then presented with a check and a certificate at the monthly Wimberley Lions Club meetings. Teachers receive a $100 check and students receive a $25 check.

“The Lions Club is grateful we have the opportunity and the ability to honor our teachers and students in thisfashion,” Lions Club President Cade Wright said. “It is always an award we look forward to providing.”

Hope Malone was named the Outstanding Student for Jacob’s Well Elementary and Mary Grace Barbee the Out-standing Teacher. Jayce Trager was named the Outstanding Student at Blue Hole Primary and Jenny Durkin was the Outstanding Teacher. Sophia Veriato was named the Outstanding Student at Danforth Junior High and Kasey Tatum was named the Outstanding Teacher. Jack Garrett was named the Outstanding Student at Wimberley High School and Brannon Gilley was named the Outstanding Teacher.
