A terrific way to beat the heat this Saturday is to attend Wimberley Market Day on June 4. Why swelter in the heat doing work around the house when you can come to the beautiful and tree-covered Market Day Lions Field and shop outdoors in the shade? All of the shopping, eating and drinking is outdoors, so you will enjoy the gentle summer breeze. And don’t forget that there are always ten concessions nearby where you can get your soft drinks, a cool beer, sangria and your favorite wine. It’s the Wimberley Way to beat the rising temperatures of summer.
An outstanding lineup of popular music makers take the three stages at Lions Field to help usher in the summer season in Wimberley. On the Pavilion Stage are the always popular band The Shades, whose renditions of popular rock and roll classics will get you up on your feet and dancing. Their renditions of 50s and 60s classics is a perfect match for a beautiful summer day at Wimberley Market Day. On the Shady Grove Stage is Jason Fleece. Phoenix Jordan plays the Hilltop Stage. All the music is free at Market Day and goes naturally with a cool drink and delicious Market Day food. The music begins on each stage around 11 a.m.
Wimberley Market Days will feature over 400 booths where the shopper can select from an outstanding variety of items. This year, the Wimberley Lions celebrate their 50th year at Lions Field.
Wimberley Market Day is held on the First Saturday of each month, rain or shine. In June, shopping hours are from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lions Field is located off FM 2325, about a mile from the Wimberley Square. The $5 donation accepted at the Lions Club’s parking lots and all food and drink sales helps to fund the various grants and scholarships distributed by the Wimberley Lions Club which has given back over $4,000,000 to the Wimberley community. The Wimberley Lions recently awarded $60,000 in scholarships to eight graduates of Wimberley High School.
