The Wimberley Community Civic Club awarded 23 grants to area nonprofits on May 13 at their regular meeting at Messina Inn. In addition to the community grants, it was announced that six students were selected to receive scholarships to pursue higher education goals. The successes of the Home Tour and Spring Events allowed the organization to fund $27,500 in grants and an additional $12,500 in scholarships.
The organizations that received grants in 2022 are: Friends of the Wimberley Village Library, Imagine Wimberley, Wimberley Water Advisory Group, Wimberley Birding Society, Wimberley Valley Conventions and Visitors Bureau, Wimberley EMS, Wimberley Valley Radio KWVH 94.3 FM, The Barnabas Connection, Central Texas Theatre Academy, Mini Equine 2 U, Wimberley Good Neighbor, Wimberley Gold Santa, Wimberley Valley Habitat for Humanity, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Hill Country Community Band, Starlight Symphony Orchestra, Wimber ley Community Chorus, The Wimberley Players, the Wimberley Valley Big Band, Wimberley Senior Citizens Activities, Inc., Meals on Wheels, Combined Community Action, PAWS Wimberley TNR Program and the Wimberley Adoption Group and Rescue (WAG).
