Don’t miss Katherine Anne Porter School’s 6th annual Flavor and Fire Chili Cook-Off and Open House April 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The fundraiser supports KAPS, a free public charter high school serving students grades 9-12 from Wimberley and surrounding communities.
Chili cook-off competitors will prepare their own special chili recipe with tastings served to attendees, and prizes based on the people’s choice. Tickets are available for $10 (individual) and $25 (family pack for up to 4 people) and include a large bowl of chili with all the toppings.
In addition to the chili competition, KAPS students will compete in their very own “Cupcake War” contest with the theme of “fantastic films.” Judged by the Sugar Shack Bakery team, the winning cupcake recipe receives the honor of being featured on the menu at Sugar Shack Bakery.
Coming up, KAPS hosts a Barn Dance fundraiser at Montesino Ranch on Sunday, May 15, from 6 pm to 9 pm, with live Western swing from Big Cedar Fever, a silent auction, food, drinks and more. If you or your business is interested in donating an item or service for the silent auction, please email [email protected].
Information and tickets for the Chili Cook-Off, Barn Dance Fundraiser and all KAPS events are available on the Katherine Anne Porter School website at www.kapschool.org/events.
