Coming up fast on the outside lane is Wimberley’s most lavish party, KWVH’s 4th Annual Kentucky Derby Party. At the airconditioned Videre Estate again this year, the May 3 event is full of excitement with raffles, live and silent auctions, a stylish derby hat contest and bourbon tastings, all of which promises to leave ticketholders giddy.
Called “the most thrilling two minutes in sports,” the 151st Run for the Roses, held at Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, will be viewed by guests on a giant screen.
Held from 2:30 to 6 p.m., tickets include southern cuisine, beer, wine and Mint Juleps.
Tickets are available at kwvh.org. Individual admission tickets are $150 and include a raffle ticket. VIP and reserved tables are available.
This year, KWVH celebrates its 10th anniversary on the air. Created out of the devastation of the 2015 Memorial Day Flood, the community- powered radio station provides local programming and music, community updates and serves as a crucial, immediate news outlet in the event of an emergency.
All proceeds from the Derby Day fundraiser supports KWVH.
