Calling all tree lovers to Woodcreek’s Arbor Day

Woodcreek’s Trees and Parks Board is holding their Fourth Annual Arbor Day Celebration April 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Triangle Park. As a proud Tree City USA, the city is dedicated to preserving and celebrating its beautiful tree canopy, and this annual event is a chance to come together, learn, and enjoy an afternoon outdoors.

This year’s Arbor Day celebration will feature an Oak Wilt 101 session and Q&A with tree experts from Texas A&M Forest Service, We Love Trees, Oak Wilt Pros, and Simple Leaf Tree Care.

Hays County Master Naturalists, Hays County Master Gardeners Outreach, Native Plant Society of Texas will share best practices for tree care and preservation.

The event will have a laid-back, picnic-style atmosphere with free food from a local food truck, while supplies last, BYO beverages and plenty of space to relax under the trees. For the kids, face painting, a special storytime, snow cones and a treethemed craft will be available.
