April heralds Concerts in the Park at Blue Hole

Georgia Parker, a Western Swing performer from central Texas, will perform April 11 at Blue Hole from 6 to 10 p.m. Inspired by legends Willie Nelson, Cindy Walker and Bob Wills and others, she is known for her smooth vocals, magnetic stage presence and musicianship.

She performs vintage and original songs with captivatingly strong vocals and an impressive swinging guitar style that will take you back to a 1940’s dancehall. In 2020, she was voted as the “Ameripolitan Western Swing Female” at Dale Watson’s award show in Memphis. Since then she has recorded her first full length record and has been touring Texas and the Southwest.

Doug Freeman of The Austin Chronicle writes, “Austin’s new queen of Texas swing, Georgia Parker and band strike an intoxicating mix of classic honky tonk and sharp originals that are less revival than timely progression.” Georgia also holds the Ameripolitan Award for Western Swing Band with the band Big Cedar Fever for 2019, and the 2020 Academy of Western Artists Award for Western Swing Album for “Tumbleweeds” by Big Cedar Fever.
