Student exchange program seeks hosts

The World Heritage International Student Exchange Program is bringing the world to Wimberley – one international teenager at a time! Nanette Mackenroth is the Area Representative whose primary goal is to contribute to international understanding by enabling foreign students to learn about the United States through active participation in family, school, and community life.

Nanette will be interviewing families in Wimberley to host exceptional high school students from Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The students stay with volunteer host families for an academic year and arrive with excellent health, accident, and liability insurance and their own spending money.

The host family provides a bed and three meals per day. The family may choose their student from a wide variety of backgrounds, countries, and personal interests. The students are 15 to 18 years old, are well screened, and have a sincere desire to learn about the U.S. by living with a local family and attending Wimberley High School.

Call Nanette for information on becoming a World Heritage host family at 512-787-7068.
