WISD explains $135M school bond proposal to public

The Wimberley Independent School District will hold public presentations on three occasions about the upcoming $135M school bond election that will take place in May. Led by Superintendent Dr. Greg Bonewald, the presentations will explain in detail the proposed projects, the decision- making process, potential tax impacts and key voting details.

The presentations will take place Monday, March 24, 6 p.m. at the Danforth Junior High Cafeteria, 200 Texan Blvd.; Thursday, March 27, 10 a.m. at the Wimberley Village Library, 400 FM2325; and again on Monday, March 31, 6 p.m. at the Danforth Junior High Cafeteria.

Those who attend the presentations will gain insight into how the proposed bond projects were prioritized and their potential impact on the district. Those attending the Danforth Junior High presentations will have the opportunity to tour the campus to see firsthand some of the areas the bond aims to improve.

Community members can access detailed information about the bond proposal on the district’s website. The site includes project lists, tax impact documents, voting information and a summary sheet.

The Bond Election takes place May 3. Early voting is April 22 to 26 and April 28 to 29. Voting locations for Wimberley residents are the Blanco Room at the Wimberley Community Center 14068 RR12, and the Texan Academy at the Scudder Campus, 400 Green Acres Drive.
