Whether you’re a local or not, Wimberley’s new welcome center and tourist services invites the public to visit, March 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. for their grand opening and chamber of commerce ribbon cutting.
The handsome, newly renovated space at 280 Old Kyle Rd. provides visitors and locals with up-to-date information about Wimberley events, attractions and culture. The building houses the office of Tourism Director, Michele Woods. The building also offers a generous information rack, soon-to-come Wimberley- themed merchandise, a shady porch, picnic tables and a public restroom.
Visitor Services Coordinator Gabrielle Snyder, a twenty year resident, is on hand Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to answer questions and provide insight.
“We’re locals and we’re here to serve both locals and visitors,” said Snyder, “And, we have recently purchased the easy-to-remember domain visit78676.com and are updating it regularly with the town’s many events and attractions.” In 2024, the Wimberley City Council made the decision to renovate the city-owned property to specifically house visitor services, creating more space for chamber activities in the familiar Wimberley Chamber of Commerce building at 14100 RR12. The renovation was envisioned by Nell Morton Architecture Design and carried out by Percheron Construction. Total costs for the new facility were $206,475; $ 15,800 for design services and $190,674 for construction. For the next phase of renovations, the city will seek landscaping bids.

The ribbon cutting will take place at 5 p.m.
