The push to the playoffs is entering the final stretch of the regular season as both the Lady Texans and Texans look to punch their ticket to the postseason.
The Lady Texans continued their march towards a district championship Tuesday night at Texan Stadium against the Fredericksburg Battlin’ Billies.
In an offensive showcase, the Lady Texans blew out Fredericksburg 7-1.
Senior Haley Lopez scored the hat-trick with three goals followed by Junior Lilli Sandoval with two goals. Both junior Jordin Donaldson and freshman Abby Durkin scored one goal apiece.
Sophomore Dylan Watson led the team in assists with two followed by Lopez, senior Addison Laney, senior Lauren Foster and sophomore Gwyneth Lerma who all had one assist apiece.
The Lady Texans were back on the road to restart the second half of district play against the Marble Falls Mustangs.
It was another dominant win over Marble Falls as the Lady Texans won 8-0. Sandoval led the team in scoring with two goals. Watson, Donaldson, Lopez, Abby Durkin, freshman Emma Durkin, and junior Cameron Thames all had a goal apiece.
Abby Durkin led the team in assists with two followed by Donaldson, Sandoval and Lopez with one apiece.
The Lady Texans will look to lock up the district title at home Tuesday against the Davenport Wolves before going on the road to Canyon Lake in a showdown with the Hawks.
The Texans were back home Tuesday night against Fredericksburg in their showdown with the Battlin’ Billies.
Wimberley was unable to come away with the win, losing 5-0.
Wimberley came back home on Friday to take the Marble Falls Mustangs. It was another rough outing for the Texans, falling to the Mustangs 4-1. Junior Joel Carasco scored the lone goal for the Texans.
Wimberley is back on the road Tuesday against Davenport before returning home in a rivalry showdown with Canyon Lake.
