The Texans Baseball team won their first games of the season at the Burnet-Llano Tournament over the past weekend.
After beating La Vernia in the season opener, the Texans were back on the field after the recent cold weather forced many games to be canceled.
The Texans opened up play at the tournament against the host Burnet Bulldogs. Wimberley put away the Bulldogs to win their first game of the tournament at 7-4.
Wimberley then faced off with the Lampasas Badgers. Both the Texans and the Badgers played to a draw with the game ending in a 4-4 tie.
Playing on the same day, the Texans turned around to take on the Elgin Wildcats. Despite competing against the Wildcats, Wimberley was unable to overcome Elgin, losing 8-4.
The Texans closed out the tournament against the Marble Falls Mustangs on Saturday. . Brushing off the loss Friday night, the Texans defeated the Mustangs 19-5.
Wimberley will be in Burnet the weekend for the Burnet Tournament.
The Texans softball team made the trip out to the coast for the Ingleside Tournament looking to snap their losing skid.
Wimberley had a rough tournament, taking losses to Henderson, PSJA North, Rockport, Ingleside and Jim Ned.
In their final game of the tournament, Wimberley looked to end the weekend on a positive note against Dilley.
The Texans pulled through, defeating Dilley 9-0 to snap their losing streak.
Wimberley will be back home Tuesday against Cornerstone before going on the road to Blanco on Friday.
