Frigid temperatures ahead

Temperatures in Wimberley are expected to plunge this week as an arctic cold front moves into the area. Cold air, combined with strong northerly winds, are expected to bring wind chill temperatures down to the single digits, teens and 20s by Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures could drop as low as 19 degrees Wednesday night and as low as 28 degrees on Thursday night. Nighttime temperatures are expected to climb into the low 30s on Friday and Saturday nights.

Residents are advised to take measures to protect people, plants, pets and pipes.
