The Texans fell short in the quest for a district championship, falling to the Davenport Wolves 63-57.
The loss drops Wimberley’s overall record to 24-9 and their district record to 8-2.
Junior Paul Gumbert- Medoza led the team in scoring with 23 points followed by junior Holden Crawford with 12 points. Senior Gavin Olmer was third in scoring with 11 points.
Olmer and sophomore Nathan Baker led the team in rebounding with six apiece while Gumbert Medoza led the team in assists with 9.
Wimberley enters the 4A Division II playoffs with the No. 1 seed with Canyon Lake going in as the No. 2 seed. Davenport will represent District 26 in the 4A Division I bracket as the No. 1 seed followed by Fredericksburg at the No. 2 seed.
In the first round of the playoffs, the Texans will face the Manor New Tech Titans. The Titans finished the season with a 10-15 overall record and a fourth place finish in the District 25 standings.
Tip-off for Wimberley- New Tech will be Tuesday night at Hays High School before the Wimberley View time of press.
The Lady Texans faced-off with Cuero in the Area Round of the playoffs in the third meeting between the two teams this season, both squads winning one game against the other.
