Art Crawl moves to fourth Fridays

The February Art Crawl, the monthly gallery event organized by Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance, or WimberleyArts. org, will take place this month on February 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. The date heralds the new schedule for all future Art Crawls which now will be held the fourth Friday of the month.

According to WVACA, the committee of board members and gallery owners changed the day to appeal to both locals and weekend visitors.

Artist and event chair, Nancy Elliott, who took the lead in bringing the Wimberley Art Crawl to life said, “We started Art Step in Bryan and found a wonderful energy in town when folks strolled the streets and enjoyed art in the evening. We hope that by moving Art Crawl to the fourth Fridays of the month, people can enjoy our unique galleries and studios in a relaxed social setting knowing the work week is behind them.”

PARTICIPATING GALLERIES OFFER LIVE MUSIC AS PART OF THE EVENT. SHOWN PERFORMING ARE MARVIN AND LAURA BOTTERA OF BROKEN GLASS.
ARTIST AND ART CRAWL EVENT CHAIR, NANCY ELLIOTT, HOPES THAT BY MOVING TO THE FOURTH FRIDAY OF THE MONTH, PEOPLE CAN ENJOY A MORE LEISURELY AND ENJOYABLE ART CRAWL.
EACH ART CRAWL IS CENTERED AROUND A THEME. IN NOVEMBER, THE LITERARY NIGHT THEME DREW AUTHORS AND PUBLISHERS.

Going forward, participating galleries and retailers will extend their hours, serve refreshments, and present live music the fourth Friday of the month.

Each month, the Art Crawl will entertain a different theme. On February 28, the theme is “Luminaries and Champagne,” in keeping with the month of love and romance.

Beginning in February, Willow Lake Watering Hole on Old Kyle Road will join the party and host guest artists on the porch to display and sell their creations.
