The Wimberley Texans won both of their district games this week to set up a district championship showdown with Davenport Tuesday night.
Wimberley improves their overall record to 24-8 overall and their district record to 8-1.
The Texans started the week on the road at Fredericksburg in a showdown with the Battlin’ Billies.
Wimberley rounded up the Billies and scored another district win over their Hill Country archrival, winning 5343.
Junior Paul Gum- bert-Mendoza led the team in scoring with 16 points followed by sophomore Nathan Baker with 14 points and senior Gavin Olmer with 10 points.

Sophomore Reece Wortham led the team in assists and rebounds with eight apiece.
Wimberley returned home Friday night for the final home game of the season, celebrating senior night as the Texans battled another archrival in the Navarro Panthers.
The Texans denied the Panthers the upset bid, beating the Panthers 60-38.
Gumbert-Mendoza set two school records in the game, setting the record for most steals in a season, most steals in a career and most assists in a career.
Olmer also set a new school record, becoming the all-time rebounder in Texan basketball history.
Wimberley goes on the road to Davenport in a showdown with the Wolves with the winner bringing home the 4A District 29 Championship.
The Texans beat the Wolves in their first meeting, winning 63-57.
Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. at Davenport High School.
