WISD discussing potential school bond

The Wimberley Independent School District, in a Special Facility Bond Workshop held January 29, discussed a potential May 2025 bond program recommended by the district’s Facilities Needs Task Force.

The potential bond total could be as much as $135M. On the ballot, it would be presented to voters as Proposition 1: General Proposition, $109,990,000; Proposition 2: Instructional Technology, $6,050,000; Propo- sition 3: Texan Stadium Improvements, $5,730,000; and Proposition 4 for a Shaded Multipurpose Activity Center, $13,230,000.

The Facility Needs Task Force began meeting in September last year, to, among other things, conduct site visits, assess facility conditions, create a facility master plan, prioritize potential projects and to review Texas Bond Laws. In December, they met to finalize their recommendations. On January 13, they presented their findings to the WISD board.

School District Elections, including bond elections, are governed by the Texas Secretary of State. If the board elects to call for a bond election, they must do so by February 14 in order for it to appear on the May 3 general election ballot.
