‘Wimberley Wonders’ dazzle at Texas Destination Imagination tournament

The “Wimberley Wonders,” a team of five Jacob’s Well Elementary fifth graders represented the Wimberley Independent School District at the Texas Destination Imagination Regional Tournament last week. They competed in the “Scientific Challenge” category against 17 oth-er elementary teams from the Capital Region and finished first place.

The team was also awarded the “Renaissance Award,” which is a special designation only given to Destination Imagination teams who exhibit exceptional skills in design, engineering and performance, and recognizes teams that demonstrate extraordinary effort and preparation.

The Wimberley Wonders team members are Helen Dunham, Liv Hawkins, Clara Buchanan, Ruthie Deringer and Sunday Shelor.

Their first place finish advances them to compete at the 2025 Lone Star Finals State Tournament that will be held at the University of Texas at Arlington on March 29.
