Registration for the Central Texas Theatre Academy Spring and Summer camps is now underway. In its fifth year, the academy offers classes in acting and theatre production, theatre camps and performances for young people aged five through 18.
The “Disney Musical Spring Break Camp,” held March 17 through 21, allows kids aged five to 12 to dive into iconic Disney musicals. Components include choreography, songs, design elements and, as a bonus, a special “Wicked” musical session. Campers play improv games and participate in theatre development activities, all taped and shared as a private You-Tube video for friends and family. The camp meets 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and the cost is $300 per child, with a $50 sibling discount.
In June, CTTA will offer award-winning summer camps for children aged five to 12. The “Greek Mythology Playwriting Camp,” will take place June 9 through 13 and “Shakesperience Camp,” will be held June 16 through 20. The cost per child to attend each camp is $300.
In late June and early July, CTTA offers a two-week “Suessical Musical Theatre Camp” for young people aged eight to 16 that culminates in multiple public performances. The dates for the musical are June 23 through July 3, and the cost is $450 per child, with a $50 sibling discount.
All Spring and Summer camps take place at the CTTA academy in the Plaza Del Sol shopping center, 12111 RR12 in Wimberley, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Space is limited and spots fill quickly.
