In a showdown between Hays County schools, Wimberley defeated San Marcos 3-0 with junior Lilli Sandoval scoring three goals to complete the hat trick.
The Lady Texans improved their record to 11-1 overall.
Wimberley scored all three goals in the first half with Sandoval scoring all three to complete the rare hat trick. Ella Sandoval and Dylan Watson were all credited with the assists on two of the goals.
Following the win, the Lady Texans earned the No. 4 state ranking from the Texas Girls Coaches Association Soccer poll for Class 4A.
The No. 4 Lady Texans will return to play Friday Feb. 7 in the district opener against Marble Falls. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Texan Stadium The Texans took the week off last week and will return to play this week. Wimberley will go on the road to New Braunfels Canyon on Tuesday before hosting Austin Idea Montopolis on Friday at Texan Stadium.
