Wimberley area graduating seniors may now apply for Civic Club scholarships. Applications are available from high school guidance counselors and are due March 26. Scholarship applications are open to students attending a traditional university or qualified non-traditional institutions of higher learning, such as a culinary school, art institute or trade school. Completed applications should be turned in to guidance counselors.
“We raise funds for scholarships and grants each year from the many events we sponsor, such as our Spring Events, from January to May, the Wimberley Home Tour, April 11 and 12, our Style Show later in the year, and our Breakfast with Santa,” said Jeanette Nelson, Scholarship Committee Chair.
Funding for scholarships also comes from donations from businesses and individuals.
The Civic Club supports the Wimberley Valley through their grants and scholarships. In 2024, the organization gave $40,100 to 28 local organizations and $26,900 to nine high school graduates.
