Registration for Parks and Rec camps opening

Registration for Wimberley Summer Camp, Blue Hole Nature Camp and Spring Break Camp opens February 1. The day camps are designed for children ages 6 to 12, with Counselor in Training positions available for teens ages 13 to 15.

Organized by the Wimberley Parks and Recreation Department, the Wimberley Camps offer opportunities for children to explore, learn and grow through hands-on activities, creative outlets, unique games and friendship-building endeavors. Camp sessions run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a oneweek break from June 30 to July 4.

Running from May 26 to August 8, Blue Hole Nature Camp focuses on nature education and outdoor exploration. Held at Blue Hole Regional Park, campers learn about conservation, native Texas wildlife, local ecosystems and how to protect natural resources. This community- driven program connects children to the natural world through hands-on learning and outdoor adventures, to foster a lifelong appreciation for the environment. Weekly sessions are $250 for Wimberley residents and $300 for non-residents.

Wimberley Summer Camp takes place June 2 to August 1 and offers a fun, indoor experience at the Wimberley Community Center. Weekly themes like “Out of This World” and “Wimberley Olympics” keep participants engaged. Campers can expect diverse activities designed to spark creativity, encourage teamwork and promote exploration in a safe and welcoming environment. Weekly sessions are $200 for Wimberley residents and $250 for non-residents.

Teens aged 13 to 15 are eligible to join the Counselor in Training program for $100 per week. The leadership experience helps teens build essential skills like mentoring, teamwork and responsibility while supporting younger campers.

Spring Break Camp takes place March 17 to 21 and offers kids a chance to participate hands-on learning, games and creative activities during their school break. The cost to attend Spring Break Camp is $200 per week.

Camp spaces fill up quickly, so early registration is strongly advised. For additional information and to register, visit wimberleyparksandrec. com/ camps/ or contact us directly at parks@cityofwimberley. com.
