The Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association named Wimberley’s Laney Hennessee the player of the year in their Class 4A all-state volleyball team.
The 6-foot Hennessee had 515 kills, 299 digs, 62 aces and 43 blocks in leading 42-3 Wimberley to the Class 4A Division II state title that was the program’s seventh title. The Alabama signee had 18 kills and 15 digs in the Texans’ five-set victory over Canyon Randall for the state championship and she was the game’s MVP.
Wimberley’s Missy Fletcher- Remmers was named coach of the year.
